Fourteen community sports clubs across the county have received grants to improve their facilities.
In total, £200,000 has been awarded to clubs - including football, cycling and basketball - through the scheme, which was delivered by Cardiff Council in partnership with Cardiff Met Sport.
Projects funded include improvements to pitch and changing facilities, a new all-weather mountain bike track, a new minibus, and the installation of floodlights to enable winter training.
Disability athletics club, Frame Running Dragons will use their funding to improve storage for the clubs disability running frames, allowing them to easily access suitable frames so that they can get out on the track and running much more easily and expand their outreach work.
Tribal Basketball plan to use their funds to buy a minibus, which will help them to travel to their away games in the National League - which are often played several hours away from Cardiff. It means the club will be able to reduce the costs associated with travel and make the sporting opportunities more accessible for low-income families.
Cllr Jennifer Burke, cabinet member for culture, parks and events, said: "Local sports clubs play an important role in improving residents mental and physical health, but beyond that they're also key to creating the safe, confident and empowered communities we want to see across the city.
"Our financial support will help create a stronger, fairer Cardiff by enabling clubs from all over the city to improve their facilities, get even more people involved in sport and continue to build on the fantastic work they're already doing."
The scheme prioritised grant applications which would increase participation in disadvantaged areas, promote safe and inclusive environments, improve accessibility to facilities and sport participation as well as promote active lifestyles and benefit the local community as a whole.
