Two people charged after body of missing woman found

Two people have appeared in Cardiff Crown court charged in connection with the death of a 37-year-old woman from Cathays.

On April 19, South Wales Police confirmed that the body of Paria Veisi had been found at an address in Penylan following a murder investigation.

Ms Veisi was last seen on April 12 at 3pm leaving her place of work in Canton driving a black Mercedes GLC 200.

Alireza Askari, 41, appeared at Cardiff Crown Court on April 22 charged with murder, preventing lawful and decent burial of a dead body and assaulting a person occasioning them actual bodily harm.

Maryam Delavary, 48, from White City Estate, London, also appeared in court and is charged with preventing a lawful and decent burial of a dead body and conspiring to pervert the course of justice.

Both will appear next at Cardiff Crown Court on 16 May. They have been remanded in custody.
