It launches this week, on April 23, and will be located on the fifth floor of the city centre hub.
To mark the launch, a free ‘digital fun day’ from 12pm to 4pm showcasing the support and services on offer as well as lots of family-friendly activities.
The fun day will include taster sessions on family history, stop motion animation, coding and Lego robotics, quizzes and games, arts and crafts, virtual reality, prize giveaways and much more.
Council services including Cardiff Wellbeing Support Service, Customer & Digital Services, Volunteer Cardiff and Tenants Together will also be there to share information and advice about the services they provide.
Labour Cllr Lee Bridgeman, cabinet member for housing and communities, said: “It’s so important these days to have even just a basic knowledge of the digital world.
“It’s about so much more than entertainment and it’s why we’ve established the learning lounge to help customers to make the most of the digital experience – whether that’s for work, helping to simplify daily tasks or helping to reduce social isolation by keeping people connected.”
The Digital Learning Lounge will be open Monday to Friday and visitors can get help troubleshooting devices, accessing websites, come and practise their skills and access daily activities on topics such as digital employability, creativity and productivity.
