A man from Llanrumney has been jailed for dealing heroin, crack cocaine, cocaine and cannabis.

Matthew Jones, 29, was sentenced to six years and nine months in prison and also received a four-year driving ban on June 27 at Cardiff Crown Court.

At a previous hearing, Jones admitted to being involved in supplying 466 grams of heroin, 1kg of cocaine, and 3kgs of cannabis.

He also plead guilty to possessing criminal property and driving with no licence and no insurance.

After seizing a mobile phone as part of a separate investigation, officers from the Cardiff & Vale organised crime team identified Jones as one of the people in a Snapchat conversation where discussions about the sale of class A and B drugs took place.

Jones, who received daily updates on the sales, was then found to be playing a leading role within the Llanrumney crime group.

PC Homan said:“Jones’s drug dealing will undoubtedly have impacted the local community, and I’m pleased to see this significant sentence.

“There is zero-tolerance for drug supply on our streets and our organised crime team are committed to identifying and apprehending those involved."
